How do I connect?
Simply determine which component you want to be the 'master' (eg: computer tower, DVD recorder) and plug it in. Plug in the remaining devices, switch on the power board and you are all set to 'save'.
How much will I save?
While everyones connected equipment is different, the average home can expect to save the equivalent of a 40-60 watt lamp that is left on all day, everyday. For example, in a home environment if the connected equipment is in use 5 hours a day, that means almost 80% of the time the products are in standby mode. That's almost 7000 hours of wasteful standby power- in one year, at an approximate cost of $50, not to mention the carbon emissions used to make the energy.
Consider modems, speakers, routers, printers, TVs, amplifiers etc which are commonly left 'on' or in standby permanently. What a waste!
Think of how much you will save over the years to come. The alternative is to remember to turn the products off at the wall.
